Band Photo Weekend

It’s back!! Last week was a slacking week for me in the blog world, unfortunately, and I did miss this post last weekend. However, this week’s post is going to be great because… I’M GETTING A NEW BASS!! 😀 I am super excited!!! I have finally proved myself a worthy bassist, and have graduated from a $100 pawn shop Ibanez (which is nothing to be ashamed of, it was a fantastic starting out bass!) to an ESP LTD Stream 204. This bass debuted at Namm in January of 2014. The neck is Rosewood with pearl inlays and it is GORGEOUS! Here, look for yourself..

We put a down payment on it today, and will be back to pick it up next weekend!! There’s a tiny dent in the back of it (probably from a belt buckle or bumping a wall) so the owner of the local music store where we’re purchasing it, Ben, decided to throw in strings and a strap! That was super awesome, since I would have had to get strings for it anyway, and I’ll be able to have my own strap I got to pick out! Super psyched. 😀 I’ll have lots more pictures for you all next weekend I’m sure.

This is great too, because now we have all the music equipment needed to start recording! There’s a few minor things we need, but we’re done with the ‘big’ purchases of music equipment. Next we’ll have to get recording equipment and beef up the computer we’re using in the band room. This winter we’re going to try to record our own first album, probably with 5-7 of our strongest songs. I’ll let you know more about that when the time comes, of course!

We’ve been streaming on Twitch each weekend, and tonight we had 23 people watching us at one point! Everyone was super nice and thought we sounded pretty good, so that was really uplifting and made us all really happy. The last time we streamed we had some people being kind of rude, so this was a welcomed change! If you’re interested in watching us stream sometime, we usually go on around 9pm US Central time Saturday nights. We’ll try to stream Friday and Sunday night if possible. Since Randy drives a truck all week, Friday’s are usually sketchy. Plus we’re still writing new songs – working on one right now! – so there will be times we want to work on our music off-stream. Thank you for all the support in our Lunar Tides adventure! We love playing, and learning on our instruments (Lucas and I anyway, Randy’s been at his for years!) so I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. 🙂
