What I’ve Learned from NaBloPoMo

What I’ve Learned from NaBloPoMo

We’re finally on the last day of November, and therefore NaBloPoMo is on its last day as well! I have had a ton of fun participating, and maybe next year I’ll be able to do NaNoWriMo as well! (Or in place of)

I know there are a lot of you who already post everyday, but for me it was quite a task! There were a few days where I couldn’t think of anything to say, or I was really tired and normally would have skipped out on blogging, but had to make that post since it’s NaBloPoMo.

Another downside, is that the content for some of my posts suffered a little bit I think. Not by too much, since it was still things I wanted to be posting about, but sometimes they would be a little rushed.

On the other hand, it was awesome being able to talk to all of you everyday!! I really enjoyed keeping up with everyone’s blogs, and filling all of you in on what was happening in my life on a daily basis. That was really awesome.

I think in the future I’m going to try to be posting more than I had been, but maybe not quite every day. That might be a little too much for me, but we’ll just see what happens! πŸ™‚ How did your NaBloPoMo or NaNoWriMo go?

Also, Lucas and I did make it back home just fine last night! It was raining when we left, but after about an hour of driving it quit and the rest of the trip was pretty decent. It did get foggy toward the end of the trip, but we made it all right! I’m really glad we left when we did, since the weather did get worse.

Plus, when we got back Lucas didn’t feel good at all, and by the time we went to bed he had a fever. He wouldn’t have been able to drive in that condition! I think being around so many people probably got him sick. Plus my sister Skye was actually sick, so that didn’t help! Oh well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.

We had an absolute blast though. Since our trip was cut a little short, and we were hung over and slept all day Sunday, we actually didn’t see everyone like we wanted. :/ Next time we’ll have to make sure to really plan it all out!

However, I got a camcorder!!! It’s a Canon Vixia HF R600. Mom got it for me for Christmas, and she ordered a dog grooming book for me! The book should be here around the end of the week. I’m SO excited for both!! πŸ˜€ And, today Lucas got a new 55″ Samsung TV! So Christmas definitely came early for us. πŸ™‚

I’m going to try to get back to all of your comments and begin catching up on your posts in the next few days. Plus I need to get all the pictures onto my computer so I can make more posts and show you all the pics! I was going to try to get through everything today, but I think my body is still trying to recuperate from all the sleep I lost. Plus, my throat has been hurting a lot today, so I want to rest so I’m not sick for work since I’ll be working for the next like ten days or something.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and you’re having a great start to your week! I will be talking to you all very soon. πŸ˜€

Heading Home

Heading Home

On our way home! I’m sad and will miss everyone like crazy, but there’s nothing quite like home! Plus I really miss my boys. πŸ™‚

We were going to stay tonight and leave tomorrow, but there’s a big storm that’s supposed to be coming in tonight, so we thought leaving early would be a good idea.

The party last night was a blast, everyone had a great time! We all drank too much and were super hung over today, but it was worth it. πŸ˜‰

I’ll be doing a lot of blogging tomorrow, so I’ll get back to you guys then and try to read through some of the posts I missed. Plus I’ll be filling you all in on the trip more and posting pictures. πŸ˜€

Keg Party Saturday!

Keg Party Saturday!

Me and Mom!

Tonight we’re having a party! Lucas and I are a little antisocial, and by a little I mean a lot, so this should be interesting. Haha!

Today was good though, we went to see Lucas’s grandma, great grandma, and his mom! That was a lot of fun, plus his grandma gave me some clothes which is always awesome. πŸ˜‰ I’ll share a picture of one of the shirts she gave me when I wear it; it suits me really well!

I hope everyone’s having a great weekend! What’re you doing this weekend? And again, I promise to get back to you all and try to read all your posts when I get back home! πŸ™‚

Lucas and me!
Guinea Pig Fun

Guinea Pig Fun

Here’s Pumpkin, one of the three guinea pigs at my mom’s house. Lulu and Zippey are the other two, but I don’t have any good pictures of them yet. πŸ˜‰

We’ve been being lazy today, and Lucas and I went with my sister Skye to her apartment. That was fun, and it was exciting to see where she lives! Other than that we’ve just been hanging out with the girls, playing with the guinea pigs, and playing games together!

So far it’s been an awesome trip. Tomorrow we’re going to go to Lucas’s grandma’s house and have Thanksgiving dinner there, and then we’re having a party here at my mom’s! So that’ll be a lot of fun.

I hope everyone’s having a great start to their weekend! Again, I’m sorry I haven’t replied to anyone’s comments nor read your blog posts, but I promise I will once I get some time! I want to keep making my posts, but other than that I want to be hanging out with my family. πŸ™‚ I miss you all though, and will be getting back to you soon!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Because who wants an unhappy Thanksgiving? πŸ˜‰ Mine was pretty great! We got here around midnight, and I actually stayed up all night hanging out with my sister and Lucas and mom and stepdad, until the latter two went to sleep. By the time I was going to lay down, I heard my youngest two sisters whispering, so I just went into their room and hung out with them all morning.
Finally I went to nap for a couple hours, and then woke up in time to take a shower and eat Thanksgiving dinner! Then Lucas and I went to Best Buy and Target to try to get a TV, but we had no luck. (I’ll save that ordeal for another post)
We were Freezing and wet, but I guess it was all right. To make up for it we went to see Creed!!! I have been waiting to see that movie for a loooong time! It was amazing, I definitely recommend watching it! πŸ˜€
Okay I’ll try to get back to you all soon, and I hope your Thanksgiving was terrific! I’m off to spend more time with my family. πŸ™‚

Must.. Make.. Post..

Must.. Make.. Post..

I am currently sitting in the car writing this post on my phone. I should have been super clever and typed something up to automatically post today, but of course that would never happen from me. πŸ˜›
We’re almost to our destination, about two hours to go!! I am so excited. πŸ˜€ My mom and sister will be up waiting for us!
Lucas is driving, he’s so awesome. πŸ™‚ My phone’s about to die though, so I had to hurry and post this before it does and I miss my deadline! What’re you all doing this weekend? Any big Thanksgiving plans? (for those participating in it now) I hope everyone’s having a great week!

Meet Stephen and Tammy!

Meet Stephen and Tammy!

Tonight Lucas and I were able to meet up with my dad and stepmom for a little bit on their way to Oklahoma. We sat and talked for a few hours, and it was a lot of fun!! I saw my dad over the summer, but haven’t seen Tammy in AGES, so it was really great to see both of them. πŸ˜€ Hopefully we’ll be able to see them again in Iowa as well!

Tonight and probably tomorrow will be short posts since we’ll be heading to Iowa when I get off work tomorrow. I promise I will get back to all of your comments and blog posts when I can though, I always appreciate hearing from you all!! πŸ™‚

And to those wondering, grooming went fantastically today! The dryer is broken, so we had to improvise and use one not meant for that, but it worked and was a good learning experience. πŸ˜‰ I was able to wash and dry/brush my first dog too! The Groomer said I did really well all things considered, so that was pretty awesome to hear as well. I can’t wait to go back tomorrow!

See you all soon!!

Dad and Tammy!
This Week’s Schedule

This Week’s Schedule

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS WEEK!!! Haha, sorry for the Caps, I always hate them, but I thought they really put my excitement across well. πŸ˜‰ And let’s give a knock-on-wood so I don’t jinx myself by posting how excited I am for this week! Okay, here’s the rundown:

Tonight: Go to sleep within the next half hour let’s hope!

Tomorrow: Get up at 8 (hopefully!) and get to the vet clinic by 9 to start learning how to be a bather!!! That’s right, I start in the groom room tomorrow morning! Talk about exciting. After that I also close in boarding, so it’s going to be a long 9-hour day for me. My dad and stepmom will be coming through on their way to Oklahoma, so I’ll go have a coffee with them and visit for a little bit which is exciting. πŸ™‚ After that, I need to come home and clean and pack!

Wednesday: I get to work in the groom room again! And I also close again, with at least 30 dogs in boarding! So let’s hope someone stays to help me walk them! πŸ™‚ After that, I’ll come home to say goodbye to my boys, check that everything is turned off and locked, and Lucas and I will be leaving for Iowa!!!! Ahhh!!!

Thursday: Have the girls wake me up in the morning (YAY!) and hang out with them, then wait in line at Best Buy to hopefully buy a new TV! Plus have Thanksgiving dinner, of course! Which will be Mexican food, yum!!

After that, the rest of the week/weekend will be visiting all of our family and having a ton of fun! Can you tell I’m excited?? πŸ˜€ I’ll be keeping up with posting, even if it’s short during that time, but if I don’t get to your comments and blog posts please don’t feel neglected, I will once I have time or get back home!! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start, if you’re having Thanksgiving this week what are your plans? Or what are you looking forward to this week/weekend?

Band Photo Weekend ~ Equipment Edition

Band Photo Weekend ~ Equipment Edition

I’ve already done a few posts about my bass, although I’m sure I’ll add it again in the equipment chronicles. πŸ˜‰ However, today we’re going to be looking at Randy’s guitar!! A very important instrument of course, we couldn’t have the band without it!

There it is!

It’s a 2005 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus, and it’s pretty gorgeous! Now you can find them anywhere from about $2,000 to $3,000. I think he paid roughly $2,200 for it when he got itΒ in the spring of 2006.

The guitar’s been through a lot with him, and is still going strong! He hasn’t had to do anything to it other than getting new strings, of course! (hmm, I’ll have to do a post about the strings!) Eventually he’s wanting to get a secondary guitar, A of all because it’s fun, but B of all it’s good to have a backup, especially when playing gigs. I’ll get to the guitar he’d like to get in the future in a different post. πŸ™‚

Here’s Lucas playing on it

I hope you’re enjoying seeing all of our equipment so far! If there’s anything you’ve seen in previous pictures or anywhere and would like me to do a post on that, just leave it in the comments! Or if you have any questions about something in the band, please feel free to ask! I hope everyone’s having a great night, and the start to the week goes well! πŸ™‚

And here’s Bad Randy playing on it!

It’s that time of the week once again! We’ll be going live on Twitch in about half an hour. It should be an interesting stream tonight; I don’t work this weekend so I won’t be tired and wanting to hurry the stream along, but Lucas and I stayed up until like eight this morning drinking and listening to music, so we’re both a little hung over. :/ haha! Still, we’ll have fun I’m sure. Come check it out, or you can always go to our past broadcasts whenever you get time! πŸ™‚ I hope everyone’s weekend is going wonderfully!!
