Band Photo Weekend

Band Photo Weekend

Another great weekend for Lunar Tides! We ordered a computer about a week and a half ago; our other one was VERY old, especially in the tech world. Now that we’re streaming regularly on Twitch, we needed to upgrade it to be able to stream and eventually record our first album for digital download! (perhaps CD’s too; we’ll see what happens!)

Lucas put it together; he’s the brains of the operation in that department. πŸ™‚

Snazzy new computer!

We also now have a Focusrite 18i20. With that we will be able to do multi-track recording. We still need a few microphones and other odds and ends before we begin to record, but we are well on our way!

Not only that, but we need to get Pro Tools to be able to keep the tracks and tweak them to make us sound the best we can be. πŸ˜‰ Fortunately, we have some AMAZING viewers on Twitch, and one of them is sending us a version of Pro Tools! Normally it is a $600 investment, but they’re giving it to us for free since they use a different program. We’ll have to upgrade it, but that will only be about $60, which clearly is a way better deal! This will expedite our recording timeline which is awesome. We are super excited about that; it was so very nice of them.

We’re building up a little community of Twitch followers and it’s really exciting! Some of them specifically wait for us to go on stream on Saturdays! We have one viewer from Europe who I think woke up early just to watch us play. It’s a really humbling and wonderful feeling. πŸ˜€

We’re working on new riffs; we have some more on the back burner but are pumping them out rather quickly, and we need to wait and really fine-tune the newest ones now before moving on. If you’d like to hear a sneak preview of our newest one “This is America”, you can click on this link and watch it on YouTube! πŸ™‚

Finally, for the very first time, someone made us fan art!! I feel like we’ve really hit it big now. πŸ˜‰ They linked us a picture they made in paint I believe, and we absolutely love it! We’re thinking of putting it on a shirt or something; I think that’d be pretty cool. Here it is:

Lunar Tides is steadily moving forward; it’s been such a fun journey and we’re just getting started! We play every Saturday, and sometimes Friday or Sunday pending schedules and what’s going on. You can follow us on TwitterΒ at our band page, plus you can follow my Twitter and I’ll tweet about an hour before we go live. (I’ll put “in an hour” so that way no one has to think about time zones. Those are confusing. πŸ˜› )

Thank you for all of your support in our Lunar Tides adventures, and in my blogging adventures! πŸ˜€ I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

    1. It would! I thought it was so amazing they made that for us. πŸ˜€ Twitch is amazing; it started as just a gaming platform I believe, but now has added the Music and Creative sections which are so much fun to browse through! It’s awesome watching such talented people in real-time on there.

      1. Thank you for introducing me to it – i couldn’t see other music stuff but then I did sidetrack with Bob Ross – I used to watch his ‘Joy of Painting’ every day when it was shown of tv here a couple of decades ago, so I got nostalgic with a couple of episodes of that. I’ll be sure to check Twitch out again though and have a better look around – another time when i’m not supposed to be sleeping – it’s almost 4am here now, i might have to stay up now fo get breakfast πŸ™‚

      2. Ah yes, I love Bob Ross and his paintings-he was amazing! You’re staying up late like I usually do! πŸ™‚ Although I normally go to sleep around then and then don’t wake up ’til the afternoon. My sleeping pattern is way off from what’s ‘normal’! Hehe. Breakfast sounds like a good idea though, and if you ever need help navigating through Twitch just ask me and I’ll try to help! It can be kind of tricky at first. (It still is for me sometimes!)

      3. Thanks Lydia πŸ™‚ I had a mostly normal sleep pattern most of this month while slacking on my blogging. They do say screen lights keep us awake and it does seem to be true.

      4. Yeah I would believe it! For some reason Lucas and I both seem to have a better time falling asleep really late (or early, depending on how you look at it) but since it’s the same time each night/morning and we still get 8 hours of sleep, I figure it’s probably not necessarily a bad thing! I’m glad you’ve been having a normal sleeping pattern. I find it’s sometimes nice to give blogging a tiny break. I absolutely love it, don’t get me wrong! But it can become a little tiring when I feel like I have to be keeping up with it, if that makes sense. Now I just try to get to it when I have the time and find I’m a lot more relaxed about it! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by the drop and hop. I’m normally around and read everyone’s posts right away, but life got in the way…I hope you had fun hopping to other blogs!
