To Bang or Not to Bang?

To Bang or Not to Bang?

I was debating on whether or not to even make a post about this, then thought about the title and found it somewhat funny, then thought about how people would probably actually take it at first, found it hilarious, and of course had to make the post.

I’m talking about hair, people. 😉 I cut my hair SUPER short last year. I had never done it, and it was time to really switch things up. I realized after doing so that it wasn’t for me. Thankfully I could pull it off just fine (vain much? 😉 ) but I felt naked! I missed my hair being longer. Therefore I’ve been growing it out ever since.

I realized today it seems a little boring; I think that’s because I need to go get it trimmed up a bit. I was looking through some of my older photos and found ones of my hair medium-length that I liked. I asked Lucas what he thought, and he told me he didn’t like the bangs!!! WHAT?! I had no idea he thought bangs were weird on me. :O

I used to always have bangs. I tried the straight across once, but normally they’re just side bangs. Since I’ve been trying to grow my hair out, I haven’t gotten any because I figured it’d defeat the purpose a bit. However, I had no idea that Lucas never even liked them on me!! I was thinking about getting bangs next time, but now I’m going to have to rethink that idea! Not that he’d care at all if I did, but maybe trying to go longer without bangs would be fun.

I do get annoyed with them when they won’t tuck behind my ear, and they never fall as well as the stylist makes them that first day. All in all, bangs can be a pain. Maybe I’m better off without them! What do you think? Do you have bangs, do you like bangs, do you not like bangs? Let me know! 🙂

  1. I am so out of touch I had to go google hairstyles with bangs, lol – but this post is (seriously) only the second time ever i came across the term – I live a sheltered existence 😉 I was expecting a pre-november 5th post ‘to bang or not to bang’ but maybe Bonfire/Fireworks night is a UK thing – though why we celebrate parliament NOT getting burnt down is beyond most of us 🙂

    1. LOL! Oh my gosh I love ‘why we celebrate parliament NOT getting burnt down..” so true! I personally celebrate Nov. 5th; I absolutely love ‘V for Vendetta’. Although I agree, why celebrate something that didn’t actually happen, but probably ought to!? I understand; Lucas still gets overwhelmed when I throw hair terms at him! I don’t think he ever knows what I’m talking about. 😉

    1. Must have been a 90’s thing too; I had my hair like that growing up too! 🙂 I like the sidesweep; I think if I do any type of bang that’s what it will be like. By the way, were you able to figure out pingbacks at all?

      1. Not yet-must focus better when given instructions! I did however, successfully put in links and create a meme with Roxie! Yayyyyyyy! But I really, I’ve got to try one more time to do a ping back. Then I’ll celebrate.

      2. Whoohoo! Way to go; I have no idea how to start even going about making a meme! That’s impressive. 🙂 Let me know if you have any luck with it; if not I could try to make a post specifically about enabling/doing ping backs if you think it might help! 🙂

  2. I haven’t had bangs since I was a kid and could decide things for myself. I find them very irritating — they’re always exactly where they’re not supposed to be! And you may laugh, but sometimes they’re even itchy! So, no, not for me.

    1. That’s a good point! They do become itchy sometimes and yes, I have never been able to replicate the styles the pros can do! I’m thinking staying away from them for awhile longer might be the way to go. Thanks for your input! 🙂

  3. Had to read this! You are right, the title made me laugh so thanks for the giggles. Sigh, I have been cursed with a cowlick right on top of my forehead and have never been able to bang it. It was great in grade 8 when spiked bangs were in… And I have to agree with Paula, from your pictures, you have a very pretty face so I think you would look good no matter what you do. ☺

    1. I’m glad I got a giggle out of you! 🙂 Thank you, you’re so sweet! At least the cowlick was good for a little while. I have a cowlick toward the back of my head; usually I can cover it up but every once in awhile my hair will move and it looks like I have a giant bald spot!

  4. I’m a lady from the eighties, so I bang it. I’m also older, so they’re good to hide wrinkles. 🙂 I say if you’re going to try again with bangs, go light and wispy. But you have a beautiful face…. soooo, hmmmm, decisions, decisions! It’s a toughie, good luck either way! You’ll still be beautiful!

    1. Awh, thank you! 😀 Ha, yes bangs are good for covering things up! I always liked it when I would get a giant pimple but could just cover it up by brushing my bangs over it. 😉 (and I mean that I could hide it..not that I liked getting giant pimples. I realized that read kind of funny, lol)
